Our mission is to provide shelter, veterinary care and find permanent placement for our occupants of stray, abandoned and displaced cats and dogs. We are a no-kill shelter and promote alternative methods of reducing animal overpopulation such as affordable adoption and spay/neuter programs. Byram Animal Rescue Kindness Squad, Inc. (BARKS) is a nonprofit, volunteer-based, federally-designated 501c3 charity organization, subsisting fully on donations from the communities we serve. We have been serving our communities since 1973.
Needs:

Paulins Kill Watershed Community
The Foodshed Alliance’s Paulins Kill Watershed Community welcomes volunteers for help building a healthy Paulins Kill Watershed. It is a lot of fun for those who like the outdoors and to get their feet wet!
Volunteer Opportunities:
• Water Quality Testing: Is our water getting healthier? Get your feet wet and become a community scientist to find out. Our data is sent to NJDEP and used for Clean Water Act compliance reports.
• Floodplain Forestry: Spend a few hours with your group or team caring for trees. They are planted to create wildlife habitat, shade water and prevent erosion. Learn about riparian ecology. Perfect for groups Spring or Fall.
• River Friendly Farms: Calling all farmers! Display RFF certification proudly on your farm and on products. This free program rewards you for being good stewards of your land and our watershed.
• NJDEP Road Salt Study: Each year more salt is put on roadways. It builds up in our waters and can harm folks drinking water and aquatic life. Test your water with us.
• Paulins Kill Watershed Cleanups: Do some locations in your town always seem to need a little more TLC? Let us know and we will help you plan a cleanup event.

Ginnie's House serves children in Sussex County. A CAC hosts a legally defensible forensic interview, and provides therapy and family assistance to victims of child abuse. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is a nationally-accredited full member of the National Children's Alliance.

Paulins Kill Watershed Community
The Foodshed Alliance’s Paulins Kill Watershed Community welcomes volunteers for help building a healthy Paulins Kill Watershed. It is a lot of fun for those who like the outdoors and to get their feet wet!
Volunteer Opportunities:
• Water Quality Testing: Is our water getting healthier? Get your feet wet and become a community scientist to find out. Our data is sent to NJDEP and used for Clean Water Act compliance reports.
• Floodplain Forestry: Spend a few hours with your group or team caring for trees. They are planted to create wildlife habitat, shade water and prevent erosion. Learn about riparian ecology. Perfect for groups Spring or Fall.
• River Friendly Farms: Calling all farmers! Display RFF certification proudly on your farm and on products. This free program rewards you for being good stewards of your land and our watershed.
• NJDEP Road Salt Study: Each year more salt is put on roadways. It builds up in our waters and can harm folks drinking water and aquatic life. Test your water with us.
